Hey, we’re all keeping pretty good company here! Thanks for giving us the opportunity to have a say in the world of whiskey, and Happy Holidays to John (and the fair Amy) and all our fellow bloggers!
I think we collectively do a fine job carrying the flag.
Sam, we carry the flag proudly, and we ARE making an impact.
John, Richard Paterson notes the difficulty, of the “balancing act” that you perform with “style, humour and grace.” His observations are accurate, but convey a false image– one of incredible straining deftly concealed behind a carefully schooled persona.
In fact, your most important solution to the frequent antagonism between the whisky industry and the whisky consumer is not your ability to conceal it behind a social facade (though that does come in handy in a pinch). It is your obvious belief that this atagonism does not need to exist– obvious because of its considerable influence on the structure of this blog.
For instance, how many other forums are there that both command the respect of those in the field they follow and are also unmoderated? Not many. Which is why I keep coming back.
