As a Brit, I was very lucky to have been given a bottle of this (Bottle 818 of Batch 1) by an American friend. This is a superb whiskey and is to be savoured. A classic.

John, I am glad you enjoyed the Bourye! When I first mixed the individual whiskies, the final product taste profile was a surprise to me. I look at America's rye whiskies kind of like Scotland's Islays - they can form the backbone to a wonderful end product.

Hi Sku and DavidG,
You aren't the only folks who want to know where I was lucky enough to source our products. In deference to the companies I source them from (and to my contract with them!), I am obliged not to tell. I guess its a bit like the oversupply of good grapes and juice in Napa. The top companies often sell their grapes/juice with the stipulation that the negotiant doesn't reveal the source as they fear it might lessen the brand image of the originator. Same with my suppliers. However, I am very clear on the mashbills in my whiskies and with a little perseverance (google anyone?), it is possible to figure out. A hint for the bourbon in Bourye: its extremely elegant, think flowers.

Templeton gets their whiskey from the Lawrenceburg, Indiana distillery (formerly Seagram's). It's been hypothesized that High West gets their rye from there also, and if so, they probably get their Bourbon from them as well.

I don't mean to pile on, but any idea where any of their product is sourced - the components of Rendezvous and their other age statement ryes? (and parenthetically where Templeton is getting their rye from? - I realize that perhaps this is really for another blog post)
