I spent some time with Alex Nicol of Spencerfield Spirit Co., makers of Pigs Nose blended scotch and Sheep Dip vatted (blended malt) scotch during WhiskyFest Chicago. He told me that he’s working on putting out a new 1990 Vintage Sheep Dip, which will be a 19 year old when bottled later this year.
Something to look forward to.
I see younger varieties of those whiskies, typically on the lower shelves, and wonder if they are worth a try. Perhaps the placement is unwarranted, but I can’t seem to get past the names. Anyone have some tasting notes? Could make a nice comparison with the 1990 vintage.
KY, Sheep Dip is a nice whisky–especially for the price. I am looking forward to this new one.
