I reside in Rhode Island and emailed the distillery asking where I could obtain AAA in my area. This was their response:
>Thank you for your inquiry. It is nice to know that you are a fan of our
>product.
>
>I am sorry to say that the Ancient Ancient Age is not available in RI.
>
>There are online retailers such as www.binnys.com, www.samswine.com, and
>www.bevmo.com that do carry our products at times. Please regard all
>state and federal regulations.
>
>I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if I can be of further
>assistance.

Hi Jim,

It's mainly available in Kentucky, but I have seen it at some whisky speciatly shops in major cities. (It's possible they are bootlegging it in from KY.)

I still find a (very) occasional bottle of AAA 10yo here in Tennessee, where it was still distributed 12-15 years ago, but I make it a habit to never pass through Kentucky -- the only state-wide market in which it is still offered -- without buying a bottle.
With Very Rare Old Heaven Hill BIB losing its 10yo designation, it's about the best aged, value play out there.

Sam, yep, I'm glad we got it at 43%, but it would be nice to see it at 45%.

John B: Jay @ The Party Source told me about his AAA bottling. I'm looking forward to trying it and comparing it to the standard AAA.

If you can, try the single barrel offering of AAA currently being sold at the Part Source in Bellevue, KY. Like regular AAA... but more so!

We're in agreement on everything you mention, but I'll just say that I'm glad they went the extra 3% and made this slightly bigger than the requisite 80 proof. I'm tend not to gravitate toward any 80 proof whiskey, and remain disappointed that, even at the upper end, there are no tequilas bigger than 40%.
